Duvet Covers: Start the New Year by Sleeping Well!

My name is Alice & I am over excited to be at Lizzie Bella’s blog. Hope you enjoy this post & it would really make me smile if you come over to my blog & discover more of my work! I have always been an admirer for home décor & strongly believe that your bedroom is a focal point in any home & it is attention worthy. Do you agree?
Originally a continental exoticism, duvets have actually been available in the UK for decades, but they have only been popular since the early 70s. In the forty-odd years since then, they have succeeded in capturing the market share of the bedding industry, accounting for almost ninety per cent of bedding sales compared with traditional flat sheets and blankets. The reason for this popularity is clear to see:
Duvet Covers- For changing the entire look
You can make your duvet look different every week, simply by changing the duvet cover! Blankets are heavy enough as they are, and washing them frequently can be a time-consuming and literally weighty task! Even with modern conveniences like washing machines and tumble-dryers, changing the bedding can be a tiresome chore compared to the relative ease with which a duvet cover can be swapped! So widespread has the duvet now become that many household goods stores no longer sell blankets at all! Yorkshire Linen has very pretty duvet covers & they are my personal favourite.

Make Them a Part of the Décor
The real beauty of duvet covers is how easy it is to transform your bedroom, sometimes quite dramatically, simply by changing your bedding! With a carefully selected range of duvets you can enhance or harmonise your décor scheme, strengthen or alter your colour scheme and even make your room more comfortable by choosing duvet covers in your favourite fabrics and colours! H&M offers some snuggly-warm duvets and bedding sets.
Custom-defined Bedding Settings!
Duvets can be layered to provide the perfect level of cosiness in your bed. While blanket purists insist that duvets are too thick and heavy, this is not true at all with duvets available in a range of thicknesses (rated by tog, with, for example, a 4-tog duvet being a very lightweight one and a 16-tog being a very thick, winter duvet). It is even possible to put duvets together in various combinations to keep yourself cool in summer and warm in winter. For example, use a light 5-tog on very hot days, a 10-tog one for spring and autumn, and add the two together (a little dab of Velcro in each corner will keep them from twisting up inside the duvet cover) to make a splendidly warm winter duvet without spending any extra money! The duvet covers can be circulated too, opting for cool, crisp prints in warmer months, and cosy brushed cotton or flannelette in winter.
A final advantage of the versatile duvet is how easy they are to use! Making the bed every morning is a simple flap and smooth process, taking mere minutes – the new generation will never know the pain of trying to master the hospital corner!
