Lifestyle: Social Media/ Digital Marketing Experience

So let’s start from the beginning. I studied a Media Production diploma at Oldham College and after the 2 years were up it seemed the only option was to go to university, but I knew that this wasn’t the route I wanted to take. After a very long search I saw a vacancy for Social Media/Digital marketing role. What wasn’t to love.. a job that involved Facebook and Twitter! After I made it through to bootcamp, I got my head down and focused on how to make myself stand out from the crowd. I studied everything I could about social media, learnt about the companies that will be there, researched hot topics in the field and focused on my presentation. Although the first day was nerve wracking, the warmth and the friendliness of the other colleagues made me feel welcome. During the first month I got myself settled in and researched ‘’what Cube3 is really about.” I also got to manage my first ever event, ‘’Caketober’’ which involved baking my own cake, organising the event, making posters and leaflets for everyone at Cube 3 and creating a social media schedule to support the activity. Overall it was a success, raising over £60 for Forever Manchester, although as a team we also put on a few pounds in weight. I have learnt a lot about the industry during my time there and the past 8 months had flown by. I have developed my skills in both customer service, admin, social media and marketing. I love finding social media content for both The Rock and Revolution bars, being up to date with social networking and finding the next big thing on Social Media. It’s all about finding content that connects with your audience and to do that, you really need to know your audience well. I also got the chance to be able to work with fantastic communications people such as Sarah and Clair. It was a great on going experience and I am overwhelmed that they gave me the opportunity to work with them. Every week I had to go to training days at the Juice Academy where I am able to bring to Cube valuable information that I have learnt and also to keep up to date with new social media knowledge. Another note to add is that it’s great to do something different everyday. There was always something new to do at Cube, new content, new blogs, new clients, it never got boring! This could be the start of a very exciting journey and i'm grateful I got the opportunity to work at Cube 3.
